Summer Staples

There are a few pieces that I can’t live without in the summertime. My summer vacation just recently started and I could not be more excited for a three month break from school – my last one ever! In the summer I love roomy tees, party dresses, simple heels and great tunics. I also can’t get enough of comfortable chic accessories. Here are a few of my summer staples – enjoy!

California’s Calling

I actually can’t believe that I’m heading back to SF as an almost-senior in college. This week is going to be hectic – I have a day or two in SF, then I have to head back to the Midwest for a family gathering of sorts – add a few more days in SF and that’s all that’s keeping me from London! Ta-ta for now, lovies – my plane awaits! P.S. Happy Mother’s Day, mom! I can’t wait to get home to see you. xo

Sail to Sable

I recently stumbled upon Sail to Sable via Adored by Alex, and I’ve become absolutely obsessed. My day-to-day style isn’t too preppy, but in the summer months I absolutely love a classic, preppy tunic – especially because you don’t have to add a bunch of accessories to make it feel special, they really speak for themselves. I received this bad boy from my Sail to Sable girls last week, and I can’t stop bragging about it to friends & family – it’s just too cute!

Link Love

Happy Thursday, all! Here are a few links to start your day off with a bang.

+I’m typically not a huge fan of neon, but this Tory Burch snakeskin bag may be too good to pass up. I love the idea of wearing all neutrals and then donning an eye-popping bag like this one!

+What’s my favorite blog of the moment, you ask? I have two. Rebecca Marîn & vmac+cheese have equally stolen my heart. Be sure to check them both out!

+I for one thought that Juicy Couture jewelry went out of style in middle school (remember their crown earrings? Classic.), but these earrings are making me reassess everything. I want!

+Another site I can’t get enough of? Lauren Conrad’s Pinterest. Every single pin is so sweet and gets me so inspired – it’s a must-follow!

+I’m a major fan of this Jennifer Zeuner mini hamsa necklace – it would go with everything and be so great for layering!

+I’ve been working on so many features and guest postings lately, it’s hard to keep track! Be sure to check out my “Featured” page to see the roundup of projects I’ve been involved with.

+Typically I absolutely hate any heel that’s in the middle – I either like flat sandals or sky-high heels. But after seeing these Loeffler Randall lucite sandals on Luella & June, I’m rethinking my rule about no middle heels entirely. They might be too chic to pass up!

Madewell Musts

I don’t know if you know this, but I’m a huge fan of Madewell. Every week I check out their “New Arrivals” page and then I want pretty much everything on it. Here are a few pieces I’m currently lusting after – I’m loving the peachy/lime color scheme they have going on right now!

Current Lusts

My online shopping carts are currently overfilling with awesome neutral heels and sandals, statement tees and fabulous dresses. I just want them all! Here are a few items that I’m seriously considering splurging on right now… they’re just too good!

I think the VINCE simple strap sandals + the BCBGMAXAZRIA ones are at the top of my must-have list right now. What about you? xo

Military Chic

I’m really not one for dresses, however I love pairing a great t-shirt dress with a military jacket – it’s a great way to keep dresses from feeling too girly. I think I’m finally understanding how easy and breezy dresses can be, especially for summer, and how they don’t always have to be overly feminine. I paired this Jason Wu dress with my trusty military jacket, and I’m absolutely loving how comfortable yet put together this look is! I’ve been wearing this to run errands, to finals, and think I might wear it on the plane to London because it’s so casual yet chic.

Shades of Summer

I’m really not too into bright colors, and I’m really not into mixing tons of brights and patterns. However, when I saw how well this Joie open-shoulder top went with my new Kate Spade crossbody + patterned Forever 21 shorts, I couldn’t resist. I hope this summer weather lasts forever because I’m loving dressing like I’m going to the beach every day!

Link Love

Happy Thursday, lovies! I hope that you’re all having an amazing week. I also hope that you’re all loving “Link Love” as much as I am – I’ve gotten some incredible feedback on the series, which is great considering I love putting it together! I’m so excited about each and every one of this week’s links – take a peek.

027cfd69433f41be7ad7787bb48bf914+With the stress of end-of-the-year projects stacking up, I’ve been spending more time on blogs than ever to escape from the madness. My current favorite? Fellow San Franciscan Julia from Gal Meets Glam. I could (and have) spend hours on her blog!

+This Splendid floral dress is just screaming my name – how perfect is this for summer parties and shopping?

+In last-minute planning for London, I have relied almost solely on Gwyneth Paltrow’s goop city guides app to plan fun outings. Her London edition has given me so many ideas of places to visit – and the best part? She has a city guide for so many different cities. Check them out.

+I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect silk pants, and I think I found them (on sale!) at J.Crew. I love the color-blocked look, the material and especially the price! **Update: Just ordered these bad boys. Can’t wait for them to arrive!

+I’m kind of dying over these Steve Madden wedges – they’re so dainty and chic! They would be perfect with those J.Crew pants…

+This gold side table is almost too perfect. For some reason I have a major decorating bug! I can’t wait to decorate my first place.

My Dad

Today is an extremely special day – it’s my dad’s birthday! It can be hard to explain the complexities of father/daughter relationships, especially my relationship with my dad (we’re so similar it’s scary at times) but I couldn’t love him more. Have a great day, daddy! I love you.
